It is said that the cabinet of ministers has approved granting of a monthly transport allowance of 2 lakhs to 46 MPs of the UNP.
It is reported that the allowance is granted by naming them as project ministers.
However, the JVP alleged that this fund had been distributed to 57 MPs last year.
It is said that after the political coup on October 26, payment of allowance has been stopped.
Though we inquired from several cabinet ministers regarding this and they said they do not know about it.
