Manning market in Colombo is to remain closed for another one week.
The Government Information Department said the decision has been taken as a precautionary measure to prevent the spread of COVID-19 within Manning market.
Farmers, and vegetable and fruit vendors have been advised to distribute their goods to the Meegoda, Narahenpita, Ratmalana, Welisara, Piliyandala and Veyangoda economic centers until further notice.
Small scale retailers purchasing goods from the Manning market in Colombo have been requested to purchase goods from the above mentioned economic centers.
The Government Information Department said the measures have been taken to avoid the wastage of produce due to the closure of certain economic centers. (Colombo Gazette)
