The Director of the Neville Fernando Hospital Dr. Neville Fernando said he had decided to sell the hospital.
He said that in return for the massive farce by the previous government claiming they had acquired the Neville Fernando hospital, required action would be taken in the near future.
Dr. Neville Fernando said that he had met with Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa to discuss plans to reopen the Neville Fernando hospital, but the Prime Minister had told him that he could not agree to it. He said that the Prime Minister had told him that in the event a decision is taken to reopen the SAITM hospital, it could lead to a wave of protests.
