The Presidents Media Division said fraudsters claiming to have close ties with President’s Secretary Dr.P.B.Jayasundera and certain senior officials are pressurising state officials to obtain loans and other benefits.
The Chairman of a state Bank had informed President’s Secretary of such attempts.
Dr.Jayasundera has emphasized that during his tenure as a public sector official he had neither pressurised officials of any bank or state instuition to gain personal benefits or had helped others over such matters, the PMD communiqué said. The Presidents Secretary told officials of state banks and other institutions not to be influenced by attempts of such individuals. He requests officials to report such attempts to the Police without delay, the PMD statement said.
