The Immigration and Emigration Department said that in order to curtail the spread of the Coronavirus in Sri Lanka, all on arrival visa issuance at the BIA has been suspended.
Many foreigners were used to arriving at the BIA and obtaining visa on arrival and they were issued the visa without any inconvenience.
However, due to the Coronavirus outbreak, the tourists arriving from Japan were issued visas by the embassy after subjecting them to medical examination, it is reported.
Due to the Coronavirus, tourists arriving from China would not be issued visas and the Immigration and Emigration Department has notified all tourists traveling to Sri Lanka to obtain their visas prior to arriving in the country.
