Wimal’s claims of Indian salons not in SL : Newspapers that published falsely in trouble

The statement made by Minister Wimal Weerawansa that a salon named Natural Salon had been set up during the previous regime under Investment Board approval and that discussions would be held at the Cabinet meeting to terminate this project, has been challenged.

This is due to some papers that published this news being sent demands to correct the said news article and some newspapers being sent letters of demand.

The Managing Director of Natural Lanka Grooming (Pvt) Ltd Hasini Gunasekara had clarified details pertaining to this issue.

In her clarification she had noted that two years ago her company had purchased the Natural Salon trade name and currently she has a network of salons locally.

Hasini states that at no point has she ever tried to open 700 salons under the Indian brand ‘Natural Salon’.

Wimal Weerawansa had expressed these views in relation to the Sri Lanka Beauty Culture and Hairdressing Association under the small and medium scale business subject.

Premasiri’s plan to close down Hasini’s salons

Tre is talk within the field that this is a sinister plan hatched by beautician Premasiri Hewawasam to have Hasini’s salon network closed down.

It is also said that a minister’s notorious wife who was implicated in passport fraud is also involved in this sinister conspiracy.
