Reduction in patients seeking President's support

The number of patients who benefited from the President's Fund last year has been reduced by 31% compared to the previous year (2017), according to the latest audit report of the Auditor General. The difference in the reduction in the number of patients amounts to 2787.

The President's Fund has spent Rs. 1354.13 million on 8873 patients in the previous year, while the number of patients reduced to 6086 in 2018 decreasing the amount spent to Rs. 1149.02 million.

Expenditure has also decreased by Rs 205.11 million compared to the previous year.

Meanwhile, the Auditor General. has further pointed out that the expenditure on welfare, religious and educational activities increased by 80%, 220%, and 143% respectively in 2018 and medical aid, sports and arts and scholarships have decreased by 31%, 90%, and 63% respectively compared to the previous year.
