The 24th Air Force men's cycle race was started yesterday. The first stage from Peliyagoda to Kandy successfully finished while the second stage from Kandy, Pallekele to Kaduruwela, Polonnaruwa will commence at 8.30 am today. The final stage is from Polonnaruwa to Anuradhapura via Habarana, Dambulla scheduled to start tomorrow at 8.30 am. Also, the women's race will start on the same day from Habarana to Anuradhapura and will commence at 7.30 am.
Sri Lanka Air Force once again conducted this race while Nippon Paint the title sponsor and Co sponsors Abans, Maliban and Mobitel give their support.
Air Force Bell 12 Helicopter is assisted to give live coverage on the Rupavahini Eye channel from 8 am to 11 a.m.
The Air Force commander Air Marshal Sudharshana Pathirana will be the chief guest at the awards ceremony tomorrow. He was at the starting point near the Air Force headquarters and gave his best wishes to the cyclists as seen here in this picture.
