Ravinatha's appointment to France changes

It is reported that the appointment of former Foreign Secretary Ravinatha Ariyasinghe, who was to be appointed as Sri Lanka's Ambassador to France, has also been changed.

It is said that it has been decided to appoint him as the new Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the United States of America.

Rodney Perera, the former US Ambassador to Sri Lanka, has been recalled to Sri Lanka.

However, Ravinatha agreed to accept the post of ambassador to France after former Supreme Court Judge Eva Wanasundara refused to accept the post.

Prof. Kshanika Hirimburegama has been appointed as the new Ambassador of Sri Lanka to France.

A former Vice Chancellor of the University of Colombo, she later served as the Chairman of the University Grants Commission.

Milinda Moragoda has already been nominated for the post of Sri Lankan High Commissioner to India.

There are also vacancies for ambassadors to Italy, South Korea, Seychelles, Iran and Australia, according to Foreign Ministry sources.
