The non-academic staff of Sri Lanka's state universities are due to launch a 48-hour strike tomorrow demanding a salary increase.
The University Trade Union Joint Committee will strike work on August 28th and 29th demanding an increase in their salaries in line with the salaries of state employees.
Dhammika S. Priyantha, Co-Chairperson of the University Trade Union Joint Committee said nearly 16,000 non-academic staff from 24 trade unions will join the strike.
