The Parliamentary Select Committee (PSC) probing the Easter Sunday bomb attacks has decided to request the Speaker to extend its term of office by one more month.
PSC Chairperson Deputy Speaker Ananda Kumarasiri told news media that although the Committee’s tenure was due to end on August 23, the Committee hopes to obtain an extension from the Speaker since it could not conclude its work and finalise its report so far.
He said Committee members will make this request from the Speaker at the next Parliament sessions next week.
