Records crowds at Enterprise Sri Lanka Exhibition in A’pura

The Organiser of the Enterprise Sri Lanka Exhibition, the Finance Ministry, yesterday said that over 500,000 people of Rajarata have visited the exhibition.

The exhibition, which will end today (27), consists of seven zones including the media and the education zones.

The Media and the Education Zones are attracting the youth, mainly schoolchildren pursuing higher studies. They are given guidance for their future careers in the Education Zone. In the Media Zone, they learn the broadcasting and telecasting techniques, how programs are videoed, telecast and broadcast.

Finance Secretary Dr. R.H.S.Samarathunga told Daily News that the country has around 230,000 entrepreneurs (2.8 per cent) of the total workforce.

“We must create a community equipped with new entrepreneur abilities and skills. The aim was to create 100,000 new entrepreneurs through the Enterprise Sri Lanka Program,” he said.

He said the Enterprise Sri Lanka Loan Facility Scheme has granted Rs. 88 billion to 55,000 new entrepreneurs.
