The Silumina Newspaper had reported that there was a pistol made entirely of gold at the President’s official residence.
This functional golden pistol had been gifted to President Maithripala Sirisena by the former Pakistani President.
In addition, President Maithripala Sirisena is in the possession of many varieties of valuable gifts presented to him by various state leaders.
According to information received, the President intends to hand over all these items, including the golden pistol to the Department of Museums.
All these items is to be displayed in a special unit of the recently opened technical museum in Polonnaruwa.
This would also include a collection of valuable books from the President’s collection, it is reported.
