The annual Esela Perahera of the Ruhunu Maha Kataragama Devalaya will commence today.
The perahera will parade streets at 7.34 pm, Acting Basnayake Nilame Dilruwan Rajapaksa said.
The ‘Walking on fire’ ceremony will commence today and about 500 devotees will take part in it.
The Randoli Perahera will be held on July 16. The Esela festival will end with the water cutting ceremony on July 17.
