Japanese FM Hayashi Yoshimasa visits Port of Colombo

Japan’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Hayashi Yoshimasa, made a special inspection tour at the Port of Colombo (POC) during his recent official visit to Sri Lanka.

From the port control tower, the Japanese FM and the delegation inspected the port’s strategic positioning and ongoing operations. Additionally, the Japanese Foreign Minister took the opportunity to inspect the Japanese warship J. S. Samindare, which had docked at the POC. Overall, the visit showcased the continued cooperation and strong ties between Japan and Sri Lanka in matters of maritime affairs and diplomatic relations.

As a token of appreciation, the Chairman of the Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA), Keith D. Bernard, SLPA Chairman presented the Japanese Foreign Minister with a special memento during the occasion.

Hideaki Mizukoshi, the Japanese Ambassador to Sri Lanka and officials from SLPA also attended the event.
