The gates of Rigid Tyres Corporation Private Ltd. are set to open in 2020;a state-of-the-art facility in the developing township of Horana. A monumental moment for the Industry in Sri Lanka as it peaks at international standards, bringing opportunities for employment and encouraging foreign direct investments from across the world.
The persona behind the vision of this enterprise is none other than respected business industrialist – Mr. Nandana Lokuwithana, the owner and Chairman of Ceylon Steel Corporation Limited and its flagship brand –LANWA Sanstha Wane.
Press releases report that the new plant will provide up to 3000 direct employment opportunities, and three times as many indirect employment opportunities- providing its employees withinternational working experience from within the country. A spokesperson for Chairman Nandana Lokuwithana also revealed that the plant would produce passenger car tyresalong with the industrial range of tyres to European and other international markets.
