“America ready to increase investment, expand foreign trade in Sri Lanka”

The United States Trade Representative for South and Central Asia, Brendan Lynch, expressed his appreciation for taking quick steps to stabilize Sri Lanka’s economy when he met the State Minister of Finance Shehan Semasinghe for a discussion held at the Ministry of Finance.

Lynch pointed out that the American government is ready to increase investment opportunities and expand foreign trade in Sri Lanka and will support in this. State Minister of Finance Shehan Semasinghe said the government will take every step to stabilize the economic situation in Sri Lanka.

“After the reforms carried out by the government in the last short period of time, we can see a clear stability in the economy of Sri Lanka. But we have implemented the program to create stability in the country’s economy so that the country will not go into such an economic abyss again.

The President and the government are always focusing on empowering the people by liberating them from poverty, starting with the formulation of financial policies.

The development we see at this time is the empowering of the people. We are implementing a very strong program by securing transparency and communicating every information to the people. People also understood the need for this program and are giving their support.”
