The Government has introduced several new regulations amid the Covid-19 epidemic.
These measures were announced by DG of Health Services - Dr. Anil Jasinghe during a media briefing held earlier last evening (22).
Accordingly, the following measures will be implemented :
Barbers Shops/Salons will remain closed until further notice.
Food stalls near hospitals will remain closed until further notice.
Only two passengers will be permitted to travel in a three-wheeler.
Covid-19 testing in shanty areas
Meanwhile, it has been decided to conduct Covid-19 tests in shanty areas within the Colombo District.
A decision was drawn to conduct PCR testing in shanties in the Colombo District during a meeting between officials of the Health Ministry and the Colombo Municipal Council held yesterday.
Dr Jasinghe emphasised that the risk due to Covid-19 remains high, adding that it will take more time for the virus to be eradicated.
Therefore, he requested the general public to strictly adhere to the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health and other official government institutions.
