Sri Lanka yesterday recorded its highest ever case load of positive COVID-19 patients in the country bringing the total to 304.
Earlier in the morning yesterday 24 positive cases was confirmed by the government following a series of tests, bringing the total to 295 during the morning hours. Director General of Health Services Dr. Anil Jayasinha said that the group which tested positive for the virus were at the quarantine centres. The 24 individuals were said to be residents of Bandaranayke Mawatha in Colombo 12. By this time, 97 persons who had tested positive for the virus had recovered and were discharged from hospitals.
Later yesterday noon however, 8 more cases were confirmed by the Epidemiology Unit of the Ministry of Health bringing the total to 304. According to the unit there are presently 199 patients under medical care, 97 have recorded and only 7 deaths have been reported.
