The Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) has written to COVID19 National Task Force Chairman and Army Commander Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva requesting him to consider establishing task force groups at a district level.
GMOA said its provincial and district coordinators who tirelessly contributed to the COVID-19 outbreak prevention came up with this suggestion.
“The GMOA Executive Committee too feels the establishment of such district-level groups will help in controlling the further spread of the virus. We were informed that such a coordinating meeting had already been arranged in the Kurunegala District.
We would appreciate if you could table this suggestion at the next COVID -19 task force meeting and take the initiative to establish such groups at a district level with the participation of relevant stakeholders,” it said.
