Former Sri Lanka Cricket Captain Kumar Sangakkara had been summoned by the Special Investigation Division of the Ministry of Sports to record a statement over the 2011 ICC World Cup Final match-fixing allegations, SSP W. A. J. H. Fonseka said.
Sangakkara was captain of the Sri Lanka cricket team at that time.
SSP Fonseka said Sangakkara had been asked to appear before the unit tomorrow at 9 am.
The special unit also recorded statements from former Sri Lanka Cricketer Aravinda De Silva, who was Chairman of the Selection Committee of Sri Lanka Cricket at that time and the opening batsman of that match Upul Tharanga over the allegation.
Earlier, former Sports Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage claimed that the ICC World Cup final match between India and Sri Lanka in 2011 was fixed.
On June 24, the Special Investigation Division recorded a statement from Mr Aluthgamage over his comment.
