The Maldives said that it is keen to work closely with the new Sri Lankan Government.
The Maldives Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid met President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa and Foreign Minister Dinesh Gunawardena for talks yesterday.
On his meeting with the President, the Maldives Foreign Minister tweeted saying he conveyed felicitations from the Maldives President to President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.
He said he also conveyed the strong commitment of the Maldives to work closely with Sri Lanka, for the benefit of its peoples.
