Sri Lanka temporarily halts arrivals from Vietnam

Although the airport will be opened from June 1, people who have been in Vietnam for 14 days will not be allowed to enter the country temporarily, Aviation and Export Zones Development State Minister D. V. Chanaka said.

He said this temporary ban will also apply on those who had transitted at the Vietnam airport and who had visited the country for tourism within the past 14 days.

The decision was taken due to the spread of hybrid versions of the COVID virus in Vietnam, the State Minister added. (Daily Mirror)
