Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force arrived in Sri Lanka, on 4 March to attend the 70-year celebrations of the Sri Lankan Air Force. He was greeted with a very warm welcome and reception by the Commander of the Sri Lankan Airforce. This visit signifies the strong bond and friendship between the two countries and their Armed Forces.
During his stay, Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan visited the Sri Lankan Air Force Headquarters to call on the Commander of Sri Lankan Airforce. He was presented a Guard of Honour on arrival at the Air Headquarters. Both Chiefs discussed bilateral issues and vowed to further strengthen the excellent relations between the two Air Forces.
The Air Chief also called on Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa in his office. The Air Chief expressed his gratitude to the Sri Lankan Prime Minister for the hospitality and warmth extended by people of Sri Lanka. He reiterated to strengthen the bond between both the friendly nations of always standing together in times of crises and national festivities. He also conveyed Pakistan’s desire and resolve to further enhance the existing civil-military cooperation between the two countries.
