She realised

That in the process
Of trying to make everyone else around her happy
She had lost touch with what made she, herself happy
She discovered
That she would never truly unravel and unearth
The depths of who she was
Her heart and soul
By seeking herself
In another person
And so she chose to engage in soul searching
Delving deep within
To discover what she wished to do, create and become
And what it was she truly wanted out of life.
She discovered that we are in this world
To be ourselves
Not to live up to other people’s expectations.
That some people may love you one day
Then dislike you the next
And so how you see yourself is essential
As while people’s opinions of you are always changing
How you see yourself remains with you forever
And so she refused to place her fate, happiness and sense of self
In the hands of anyone else.
