Information for Korean Visa holders

Due to the curfew order implemented by the Government of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, the Consular Section of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea has closed services until further notice, the Embassy said yesterday.

A news release issued by the Embassy provided the latest information on student and E9 visa.

1. Student Visa (D2/D4 visa)

○ A person with a valid D2/D4 visa can enter the Republic of Korea (Qatar Airways still operates the flight to the Republic of Korea).

○ Upon arrival in the Republic of Korea, all the passengers are mandated to be quarantined for two weeks (Quarantine facility will cost 100,000 KRW per day). Once Korean Authorities confirm, the eligible passenger can be self-quarantined.

○ For the D2/D4 visa holder who plans to enter the Republic of Korea after the expiry date of entry on visa, he/she has to obtain a new visa.

○ For the D2/D4 visa holder whose duration of stay on alien Registration card already expired, he/she has to obtain a new visa.

Under the Immigration Acts of the Republic of Korea, the Embassy of Republic of Korea in Sri Lanka does not have the authority to extend D2/D4 visa.

2. E9 Visa

○ Valid E9 visa holders who are currently staying in Sri Lanka can enter the Republic of Korea and the Embassy of the Republic of Korea recommends valid visa holders to contact their employer in Korea in order to maintain their visa valid.

○ Under the Immigration Acts of the Republic of Korea, the Embassy of Republic of Korea in Sri Lanka does not have the authority to extend E9 visa.
