Thousands are to engage in a mass protest demonstration if they are not granted the promised six-month moratorium for leasing facilities granted by the government to those who have lost their means of income due to the Covid-19 epidemic.
A collective pushing for this cause says that 100,000 persons will go on a protest demonstration if they are not granted this.
Meanwhile, a separate collective representing those paying loan installations obtained for vehicles say that the 'Sinhala Ravaya' organisation and the Podujana Private Bus Operators' Association have joined with them.
On June 12, these three collectives will hand over a joint statement to President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.
Speaking, Secretary of the Sinhala Ravaya Organization Shalika Perera said that the letter containing their requests would be handed over to the President on June 12 and a massive protest demonstration would be held if they were not granted.
He also said that the National Movement for Consumer Rights Protection too, has joined with them to strengthen this movement.
