Three police officers have been interdicted over the assault of an autistic teenager in Aluthgama on May 25, which sparked public outcry.
They are a sub police inspector, a sergeant and a constable.
According to a media release issued by the police HQ, the sub police inspector and the sergeant had originally been attached to the Kalutara Police College but were sent on special duty to the Aluthgama police station.
The Constable had been attached to the Aluthgama police station.
CCTV footage widely circulated on social media showed the boy being attacked by the police for wandering out while a curfew was in effect.
