The Sri Lanka Book Publishers' Association (SLBPA) announces that they will plan to hold several annual events in the country's literary calendar, adhering to health guidelines.
These events will include the Swarna Pusthaka literary awards, the Rajatha Pusthaka literary awards and the Colombo International Book fair.
Accordingly, selections are underway for the Rajatha Pusthaka literary awards and the Swarna Pusthaka literary awards, the SLBPA says.
They say that the decision to hold an awards ceremony for the Rajatha Pusthaka literary awards will depend on the country's situation around July. Regardless, the winners will be announced and prizes handed over, they add.
The 12 shortlisted entries for the first round of the Swarna Pusthaka literary awards is expected to be announced in July. The awards ceremony will be held in September if the health conditions prove to be favourable by then, they add.
Also, if health conditions prove to be favourable by that time, the Kandy book exhibition is set to be held in August while the Colombo International Book Fair is to be held at the BMICH from on Sep.18 - Sep. 27, the SLBPA notes.
