Non cabinet Minister Dr. Harsha de Silva made public his asset declarations via Transparency International Sri Lanka (TISL).
TISL said that Dr. Harsha de Silva has joined Parliamentarians Vasudeva Nanayakkara, Eran Wickramaratne and Ranjan Ramanayake in making their Asset Declarations for 2018/19 public.
Parliamentarians Vidura Wickramanayaka, Tharaka Balasuriya Mathiaparanan Abraham Sumanthiran and Seyed Ali Zahir Moulana made their asset declarations for 2017/18 public in February and have committed to do so again.
A total of 8 MPs from across party lines have taken the step towards increased accountability, TISL said.
Transparency International Sri Lanka has called on all 225 members of Parliament to publicly disclose their declarations of assets and liabilities in the interest of strengthening their accountability and as an example of their commitment to an open democracy.
