Renowned journalist C.A. Chandraprema has been appointed as the new Sri Lankan Ambassador to Geneva, it is reported.
Chandraprema is a renowned political critique as well as an author.
The Surgeon of the Peradeniya University Professor M.D. Lamawansha has been appointed as the new Ambassador to Russia, while Manori Unambuwe, has been appointed as the new Sri Lankan Ambassador to Germany. She was the Country Representative for an international computer firm previously.
According to information received, ambassadors to the US, Australia, India and China would be appointed within the next few days.
Meanwhile, the current Indian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Taranjit Sing Sandhu has been appointed as the Indian Ambassador to the US from next month.
The current Joint Secretary of the Indian Prime Minister’s Office who is the most senior foreign service officer, Gopal Bhagle has been appointed as the new Indian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka.
