Sri Lanka to co-host the Fifth South Asia Forum on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

Sri Lanka to co-host the Fifth South Asia Forum on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) convened under the auspices of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission (UNESCAP) from 15-16 November in Colombo.

In collaboration with the UNESCAP South and South West Asia Office, the Government of Sri Lanka will co-convene the Fifth South Asia Forum on SDGs in Colombo from 15-16 November on the theme Building back better from Covid-19 while accelerating the implementation of the SDGs’.
The Forum would bring together delegates from South and South-west Asian member states (India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Afghanistan, Turkey and Iran) facilitating dialogue and deliberations between stakeholders from government, private sector, think-tanks, civil society etc. on sub-regional implementation efforts, priorities and good practices.
The outcomes and recommendations from the Forum would be fed into regional and global processes, particularly the Asia Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development and the UN High Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development of 2022.
