Reports say President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa is scheduled to leave for foreign shores in September.
The first stop in his tour would be the United Kingdom, where he is scheduled to attend an Environment Summit in London.
The organisers of the Summit have praised the actions taken to ban the use of chemical fertilizers, in a letter sent to the President and have invited him to give a guest speech at the event.
The next stop would be the United States of America, to attend the United Nations General Assembly in Washington DC.
This would be the first UN General Assembly session the President is attending since assuming office.
President Rajapaksa is also keen to visit his infant granddaughter for the first time, during this tour.
