Maldives President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and First Lady Fazna Ahmed have traveled to Sri Lanka on an unofficial visit.
The President’s Office said that the first couple who left to Lanka on Tuesday, will return to Male’ on Friday.
The two recently concluded a three-island official tour of South-Thiladhunmathi atoll; they returned on Sunday.
Government offices are currently on a 16-day holiday, for Eid-al-Adha and Independence Day celebrations.
This will be the first couple’s second personal trip abroad since June; they traveled to Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) on June 4 following the death of the president’s younger brother. Ahmed Mohamed Solih, 57, passed away while undergoing cancer treatment in the Middle Eastern nation.
