Two career-diplomats assumed ambassadorial duties in two key world capitals this month.
Sri Lanka’s Ambassador-designate to Belgium and the European Union (EU) Grace Asirwatham assumed duties in Brussels on 17 June, while High Commissioner-Designate to Singapore Sashikala Premawardhane assumed duties at the Sri Lankan High Commission in Singapore daybefore yesterday (24).
According to the Embassy in Brussels, Asirwathan, upon assuming office, had called on the Chief of Protocol of Belgium, the Head of Protocol of the European Commission as well as religious leaders.
Premawardhane, meanwhile, has highlighted the need to promote trade and investment between Sri Lanka and Singapore.
