The much-awaited Sri Lanka Economic Summit will be inaugurated today with the patronage of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa as the Chief Guest.
The Summit is themed ‘Roadmap for Take-off: Driving a People Centric Economic Revival’.
Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa will launch the second phase of the summit tomorrow and participate in the VVIP session focused on ‘Empowering Take-off: Efficient Government and Progressive State Enterprises’.
The inaugural session will feature addresses by Keynote Speaker and India Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Guest of Honour and State Minister of Money and Capital Market and State Enterprise Reforms Ajith Nivard Cabraal. Ceylon Chamber of Commerce Chairman Dr. Hans Wijayasuriya will deliver the welcome address.
This year’s summit will be held on a virtual format in compliance with the country’s health guidelines for the first time in its 20-year history with a high number of participants joining online.
